OUR WORK

Through our dedicated efforts, we assist rescued vulnerable children from the clutches of street gangs, prostitution, early marriages and neglect/abuse. By offering them a safe haven and nurturing environment, we ensure each child receives the fundamental necessities and the dignity they deserve.

We don't know how lucky we are to be born in the USA!

Gratitude is the key to happiness ~ the children @ Hope of the City, truly have nothing of their own yet they are so grateful for food, shelter and education!

Hope of the City has 50 children in residence plus another 50+ children from the neighborhood who come to school and have lunch during the week. Only a few pay a modest fee.

Children are dropped off without notice on any given day by the Police Chief or family. Some are orphans, and some are because their families can't afford to keep them. Those are the lucky kids. Some are out onto the streets on their own and others for prostitution.

KKiN is the sole financial supporter of Hope of the City. Less than half of the children have monthly financial sponsors. More sponsors are needed.

There is one textbook per classroom. Each child has a pencil and a notebook. KKiN has received a large donation of laptops which is a huge opportunity for learning. Now we need to upgrade electricity for charging. Internet access is in place!

Classrooms are where the children eat their meals. The playground is a dirt parking lot. Recent renovations by KKiN have increased their living space which was much needed!
